A team of Kerala police on Monday conducted inquiries at various places in Madurai city in connection with the November 1, 2016 blast at a court in Malapuram district.

The police had brought three persons owing allegiance to the Base Movement – Abbas Ali (27), Suleiman (23) and Samsum Karim Raja, all hailing from Madurai – for interrogation.

The trio were held by the sleuths of National Investigation Agency here and Chennai on November 27, 2016.

City police sources said that the Kerala police personnel, led by Deputy Superintendent of Police Balan, visited a library of religious literature, run by Abbas Ali, at Nelpettai.

The police then visited the house of Sulaiman and utensils shops in East Veli Street where the suspects are believed to have bought the cooker used for the explosion.

The police also visited a cracker shop and a few electronics shops from where the terror suspects had allegedly procured other materials to make the bomb.
