The State BJP has initiated disciplinary proceedings against member and actor S.Ve. Shekher for sharing a Facebook post that showed women journalists in poor light.
Tamilisai Soundararajan, president of the State unit of the BJP, said that she had asked the party’s disciplinary action committee chaired by K.N. Lakshmanan to investigate the matter. “I will wait for the committee’s recommendations before taking action,” she said.
Ms. Soundararajan said that the committee would issue a notice to Mr. Shekher to appear before it and present his version of the events. The committee was waiting for Mr. Shekher, “who is out of station”, to return.
