Toddy Movement asks to stop dual policy stances of parties

Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement has written to senior leaders of Bharatiya Janata Party seeking their on lifting of the ban on toddy that prevails in Tamil Nadu if they come to power.

Movement’s field coordinator C. Nallasami said the letters were sent to BJP state president Tamilisai Sounderarajan, party’s national executive member L. Ganesan, and a few Union Ministers like Prakash Javadekar asking them whether the total prohibition which now they campaign for would include toddy.

“We asked this question as L. Ganesan and Tamilisai Sounderarajan came and extended support when Movement members observed fast to lift ban on toddy at Chennai on September 16,2008.

Now, these leaders also are part of the campaign for total prohibition. We wanted leaders of all political parties to have clarity on their stances”, he added.
