Biometric capturing for Aadhaar enrolment to be completed soon

Biometric capturing for Aadhaar enrolment would be done in all the 12 civil supplies office in the district and people were asked to utilise the opportunity.

Collector V. Dakshinamoorthy said that of the total 17,26,601 people in the district, enrolment of biometric details have been completed for 16,04,223 people, which is 92.91 per cent of the total population.

A total of 86.04 per cent of the people were given Aadhaar cards while biometric capturing is yet to be done for 1,18,607 people.

Taluk offices

Enrolling of biometric details was being carried in taluk offices in Namakkal, Rasipuram, Kolli Hills, Tiruchengode, Senthamangalam and Paramathi Velur.

Also, the process was carried out in municipal offices in Namakkal, Rasipuram, Tiruchengode, Kumarapalayam, Pallipalayam and at the permanent Aadhaar centre on Collectorate premises.

The facility is available at 28 centres across the district functioning on all days, the collector said.

People in respective areas can approach these centres with the acknowledgement form of National Population Register (NPR) and enrol themselves.

People who do not have the form can approach these centres with family card, electors’ identity card or driving licence.

The forms are available free-of-cost in all revenue divisional offices, municipalities and taluk offices, he added.

Also, beneficiaries of old-age pension scheme who did not have Aadhaar card can participate in the camp. Any person who is over five years can enrol for Aadhaar card, he added.

The Collector said that capturing of biometric details will be completed shortly. Since Aadhaar number is obtained at ration shops for issue of smart card, people should utilise the opportunity, he added.
