Basketball tournament concludes

Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchi, regained the men’s title in the Bharathidasan University inter-collegiate basketball tournament, which concluded here on Wednesday.

The three-day tournament, which was held at J.J. College of Arts and Science, attracted teams from 10 colleges. It was conducted on a knockout-cum-league basis.

At the end of the knockout phase, Jamal Mohamed College, Bishop Heber College, Tiruchi, St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchi, and AVC College, Mayiladuthurai, advanced to the semi-final league.

Jamal Mohamed College won all its three matches in the semi-final league to emerge victorious.

Bishop Heber College (two wins) and St. Joseph’s College (one win) finished second and third respectively.

Former Minister S. Regupathy gave away the prizes.
