All the bank branches and financial institutions were asked to ensure foolproof security on the premises and in ATMs.

Addressing bank branch managers and representatives from financial institutions, Superintendent of Police S.R. Senthilkumar said that installation of closed circuit television cameras on the premises, in ATMs and outside the centres was mandatory as it helps in nabbing the accused in case of theft or wrongdoings.

Burglar alarms

He said that banks need to have burglar alarms in place and round-the-clock security personnel in ATMS. Also, if movement of suspicious persons were found it should be reported to the nearest police station, he added.
