Awareness rally

A large number of school and college students participated in a rally to create awareness on leprosy in Omalur town near here on Friday.

The rally was organised by the District Health Services Leprosy wing in connection with the World Leprosy Eradication Day.

G. Indhumathi, Deputy Director of Health Services (Leprosy), who flagged off the rally, spoke on the precautionary measures to be taken to protect ourselves from leprosy.

The participants in the rally carried placards and banners explaining the impact of leprosy and how people can protect themselves against disease.
