Award for Pudukottai district

The district has bagged an award in the area of delivery of health care for maternal and child health care services. The award, instituted by the Health Department, is in recognition of drastic fall in the maternal mortality rate. Pudukottai is one among the five districts which have been recognised for their outstanding performance in this area. The Health Department conducted a study on the achievement for maternal and child health services in all districts across the State based on data and certain parameters, according to a press release issued here on Saturday.

Apart from Pudukottai, Cuddalore, Vellore, Villupuram and Tuticorin districts have been selected for the award.
