A 27-year-old assistant professor working in a private engineering college was arrested on charges of sexually assaulting a 17-year-old college girl at his residence here on Friday.
The police said that Mohammed Ismail was taking coaching classes for students at his houseOn Friday, he sexually assaulted a first year B.E. student of a private engineering college and threatened her with dire consequences not to reveal it.
The girl informed her parents, who lodged a complaint with the All Women Police Station in Suramangalam. The police registered a case under Section 3 and 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, 2012 and arrested the accused.
