K.N. Ramajeyam, younger brother of K.N. Nehru, former Transport Minister and Tiruchi district secretary of Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, was brutally murdered, apparently after he was abducted by unidentified assailants from the posh Thillai Nagar in the city on Thursday.
Ramajeyam, aged 50, was suspected to have been intercepted when he went for his morning walk. He left home around 5.15 a.m.
Hours later, his body was found in a bush on the banks of the Cauvery near Thiruvalarsolai, on the outskirts. Police sources said his wife had received a call from Ramajeyam's mobile phone, but the caller disconnected it quickly. His body, spotted by a police patrol team a few hours later, bore severe head injuries. He was found gagged and his hands and legs were tied.
Tension prevailed in the Thillai Nagar area and in front of the GH as a large number of party cadres thronged his house and the hospital. Shops and commercial establishments in and around Thillai Nagar put up the shutters. Some schools remained closed for the day.
Mr. Nehru, who rushed from Chennai to the hospital, was seen crying inconsolably. Emotions ran high as party cadres damaged signboards and furniture at the hospital mortuary, while a few threw stones at the window panes of a nursing students' hostel.
Ramajeyam had been cited an accused and was arrested with Mr. Nehru in two cases of land grab, including the case in which he was charged with forcibly acquiring land for the Kalaignar Arivalayam, the party office in the city.
Ramajeyam was into granite export and other businesses. He headed the G. Narayanan Educational Trust, which is running the CARE group of educational institutions in the city. He was also the president of the Tamil Nadu Basketball Association. Though Ramajeyam did not hold any position in the DMK, he was seen as a power centre in the party.
Ramajeyam is survived by his wife, son Vineeth and daughter Janani.

I had heared about him through people talk in Trichy , that he is big DON in Trichy , by his brother who was an MLA. He used to help for poor and rob from rich ones.Likewise we see in our tamil film. He had done many many many GOOD! things ( i hope you understand).He got reward for the good things.
Note: These things are very well known by the local people and see the VIP for his funeral as if he is a freedom fighter or MLA. He is none of the thing then why this people are joining for his funeral.
I hope they are the people who might have got benefit from him.
There is a saying in the Bible that "those who earn their money by theft, he is like a person who is leaning on the hatching eggs of a viper". No doubt that Ramajeyam and his brother have earned money through wrong means...also quite a number of people of his party and also people from opponent parties. They are reaping their inputs. Javed correctly pointed out that our police men have no gloves...what a fantastic police to throw away evidences....
I think it is a business murder.Many in trichy don't like him because he
has forced many to sell lands.Anyway he will be forgotten very soon and
another X will replace his place.this will go on forever.

No one deserves this end, my sympathies are with his wife and children. But it is a
fact that his activities were horrendous and he and his men brought very
gruesome end to human-lives for their own personal and financial gains, and also
got away with them due to political influence.
Political peoples death teach us lesson, so every one take care of their families. People who have family should not enter politics to avoid corruption and other activities. (for example Mr. APJ abdul kalam)
The vendetta unleashed by the current ruling party against the former ruling party has now turned murderous -- the ruling party is setting a dangerous trend for the future.
RIP Ramayajayam! it seems to be a well planned one.. So , this guy Ramajayam should have done something which made the other person to think and plan and to do this murder.
Everyone knows from the above picture, the body will be cremated and there will be no investigation process. Murder happened but no one guilty. The police people in the above picture DO NOT EVEN HAVE GLOVES!!! OUR investigation, judicial system and courts are only supportive of murder and more murder. Investigation are completely non scientific in India and are taken up only after so-called " F I R ". Even simple forensics are messed up. Even culprits are proven guilty in rare cases, judicial system will prolong the process. Even in judicial process declares a death sentence once in lakh of cases, the courts will will over turn the sentence. The Dinakaran office burning cases is totally forgotten where 3 people died. Bottomline is that even if Kasab cannot be put to death in our team of Investigation/Judicial process/Court system, then NO MURDERER CAN BE EXECUTED IN INDIA. This leads to revenge killing out of courts. We live in a country with a puppet legal system.
It is very sad and absolutely clumsy to see the very professional looking police officers tending to and inspecting the dead Mr. Ramajayam without the basic latex gloves in their hand. Not sure where the apathy lies?

If political vendetta exceeds beyond bogus arrests and end-up like this, it is not going to be good for political arena in TN. The consequences will cost high for fellow politicians irrespective of party.
His death is a loss to his family But still there are many rumors that he was responsible for many
deaths in tiruchi which may have not been proved or reported ..any ways he is not going to
enjoy the treasure which he earthed during his brother regime may his soul rest in peace and god

There is no reason to kill anybody . It is a henious crime, we all should oppose such violence and condole his death.
Politics is such. You can't be in the winning side all the times..You
have to take the loss too..I am sure the person who died must have saved
"hard earned" money for his family. Atleast they have something to enjoy
after his demise which most of the public does not have. RIP.

Poor guy, He was a kind man especially for DMK workers, cause many of the children of middle class party workers got the seats in his colleges without paying any donation just fees. Its sad to see him murdered in this manner. May his soul rest in peace.
It is very unfortunate that a person who is murdered is not even condoled I remember a trade union leader who was killed during a strike in 70's was also looked down like this. Whatever might have been his actions, my sincere condolences to his wife

violence. Thank God, Trichy Police is fully alert and no major
incident, so far.
I am from Trichy and all people knows about his activities inside the city.But we still feel sorry for Mr.Ramajayam.May his soul rest in peace....

The murder must be result of internal squabbles. In Politics, one should be close to the top rung leaders sothat he will not be touched else sometime or other this will be the result.
Must have turned approver in various cases against senior DMK leaders. Poor fellow.
