Architectural wonder turns 1000 years

Thangam Thennarasi, Minister for School Education, on Monday inspected various parts of Thanjavur town on Monday for identifying a venue for conducting the historical exhibition about Big Temple in connection with the Millennium celebrations of the temple to be held on September 25 and 26.

The Minister saw the open ground at the palace complex, Sangeetha Mahal, Thilakar Thidal and Armed Police grounds. Later he told presspersons that the possible choices of venues for conducting the exhibition will be placed before the Chief Minister M.Karunanidhi and he will decide the final venue.

The Minister later saw the construction works going on for Koothukalari, Centre for performing arts, at Tamil University. He also saw Karikal Cholan Auditorium in the University where seminars will be held during the Millennium celebrations.

S.N.M.Ubayathullah, State Commercial Taxes Minister, M. Rajendran, Vice-Chancellor of Tamil University, M.S.Shanmugham, District Collector, accompanied Mr. Thangam Thennarasu during his visit.
