The Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation Ltd (TACTV) on Saturday said that beginning on Wednesday (February 5), local cable operators (LCO) and multi-system operators (MSO) using its signals will have to necessarily issue serial-numbered receipts that it has supplied to them whenever they receive subscription from the customers.
A press release from the company said the LCO and MSOs should only use the receipt books with serial numbers provided by the Corporation and only the monthly subscription, of Rs.70, stipulated by the government.
No other receiptUrging the customers to insist on such official receipts, TACTV managing director J.Kumaragurubaran said the LCOs and MSOs should not issue any other receipts and not charge more than the stipulated subscription amount.
Anyone found doing so would be liable to face strict action, he said in the release.
Customers can lodge their complaints about the operators by email to arasucabletvcorp@
gmail.com, or by calling 044-2822 1233 or by sending a fax to 044-2825 3021.
Noting that the Corporation had about 65.62 lakh subscribers, he said the number of LCOs and MSOs registered with the company was 24,706.
Overwhelming responseTACTV website says that as many as 90 - 100 channels were being made available to the subscribers for Rs. 70 a month and the response from the cable operators and public was overwhelming.
Out of the Rs.70 collected from each subscriber every month, the cable operators will have to remit a sum of Rs.20 to the government.
