Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Saturday handed over orders of appointment to 19 youths to work as junior operators in Sanmina-SCI, a leading electronic manufacturing services company, at Oragadam.

Inaugurating the company on March 28, Mr. Stalin had requested the management to provide employment to local people who had given the land for the plant.

Subsequently, the company recruited 10 girls and 9 boys from Vallakottai, Vallam, Vadakal, Vaipur, Mathur and Chennakuppam. They have completed Plus Two, but could not continue their education owing to poverty.

The company also announced that it was ready to meet the expenses, if they were interested in pursuing higher studies.
