Appointed Additional Judge

M.Vijayaraghavan, a retired Principal District Judge, who has been appointed as an Additional Judge of the Madras High Court, will be sworn in on March 26.

With his appointment, the strength of the High Court will increase to 54, against the sanctioned strength of 60.

Hailing from Rajapalayam in Virudhunagar district, Mr.Vijayaraghavan is a graduate in science. He studied law in the Madras Law College.

He started practice in the District Court, Madurai. Thereafter, he was appointed a District Munsif.

He held various positions in the subordinate judiciary.

He retired as the Principal District Judge, Tirunelveli, on November 30, 2011.
