“Appoint more sanitary workers”

The district wing of the Tamil Nadu Local Body Workers Association has urged the State government to appoint more sanitary workers to achieve a ratio of one sanitary worker per 250 residents in town panchayats and municipalities. The association at its executive meeting held here on Sunday also adopted resolutions pleading for filling up the vacant posts in local bodies, upgrading the Ponnamaravathy town panchayat into a municipal town, and Pudukottai into a special-grade municipal town.
