Nehru Yuva Kendra has invited applications from the youth to join National Youth Corps (NYC) in every block of Tiruvannamalai district. Those selected will be working with youth clubs set up by the Kendra to create awareness of a range of subjects from health, education, gender and society and conduct programmes in this connection. They will also be working to set up youth and women clubs in villages.
According to a release from R. Sivakumar, district youth coordinator, Nehru Yuva Kendra, Tiruvannamalai, educational qualification for an aspirant should be a pass in SSLC. The candidate should be 18 years old and not over 25 as on April 1, 2016. Selected candidates would be given a monthly stipend of Rs.2,500. Women candidates would be given preference. Application forms would be available at the Nehru Yuva Kendra office on Chengam Road (behind the District Building Centre) or could be downloaded from www.nyks.org (or) www.yas.nic.in.
