Anti-drug abuse awareness rally flagged off

A large number of school students participated in an anti-drug abuse awareness rally organised by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Vellore, the Field Publicity Office, Vellore, and the Rotary Club of Vellore in connection with the International Day Against Drug Abuse here on Tuesday.

S. Nagarajan, Collector of Vellore, flagged off the rally, which started from Gandhi Statue and returned to the same spot after passing through Vellore North Police Station and Anna Kalai Arangam. The students carried placards with anti-drug abuse awareness messages.

Sundaresan, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Vellore, P. Punniakoti, Chief Education Officer, Vellore, N. Dominic Savio, Inspector of Police, NCB, M. Devendran, Field Publicity Officer-in-charge, Vellore, D. Thirumaran, president, Rotary Club of Vellore, and K. Saravanan, Curator, Government Museum, Vellore, participated in the rally.
