The AIADMK (Amma) Thiruparankundram MLA A.K. Bose on Monday extended support to the party’s jailed general secretary V.K. Sasikala and deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran. Mr. Bose backed the two on a day Finance Minister D. Jayakumar reiterated that Mr. Dhinakaran and his associates were persona non grata in the party.
Speaking to The Hindu , the MLA contended that it was Sasikala who appointed Mr. Palaniswami as the Chief Minister at the Koovathur resort. In her absence, Mr. Dhinakaran was appointed as the deputy general secretary. He has been authorised to lead the party, Mr. Bose argued.
“So where is the question of confusion...Since Mr. Dhinakaran has come out on bail now, he has the powers to run the party. It is very clear,” he argued.
When asked whethermore MLAs would rally behind Mr. Dhinakaran, he replied in the affirmative. Nonetheless, he said the current AIADMK government shall complete its term.
