Anbumani’s van attacked, one arrested

Anbumani Ramadoss, PMK candidate for Dharmapuri, escaped unhurt when some persons hurled stones at his campaign van at Thettur in Pappireddipatti around 8.30 p.m. on Thursday. One person has been arrested.

The windscreen of the van was damaged in the attack, party sources said. The driver was injured in the hand.

PMK cadres staged a road roko demanding action against those involved in the attack. Superintendent of Police Asra Garg rushed to the spot.

Vaiko’s appeal

The MDMK general secretary Vaiko condemned the incident and appealed for calm from the public.
