An insight into ‘Majestic India’

The jawans, officers and others in the Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) at Wellington near here are now more familiar with the varied cultures of the country, thanks to a programme titled ‘Majestic India’ organised for their benefit at Coonoor on Friday by the Nilgiris Cultural Association.

Dancers from the Chennai-based ‘Anusham dance group’ kept the audience spellbound with 16 cultural, folk and martial numbers . An item devoted to ushering in peace for Tamils in Sri Lanka and the world-famous bamboo dance captivated the audience. The Deputy Commandant, Madras Regimental Centre (MRC) Colonel R.N. Mutalik was the chief guest.
