Alagiri terms Stalin’s resignation a drama

The expelled Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam leader, M.K. Alagiri, has said the resignation of DMK treasurer and his younger brother M.K. Stalin is nothing but a drama.

It was to test the waters and prove that he (Mr. Stalin) was asked to stay back. “You all wait for a few days. What I said will come true,” he said.

Mr. Alagiri had said soon after his expulsion from the DMK that the candidates chosen to contest in the Lok Sabha elections were not a good choice and that the party would lose badly.

On Saturday, the former Union Minister and Mr. Karunanidhi’s elder son told The Hindu that the leadership should revamp the party organisation, and this alone would help it face the 2016 Assembly polls.
