AITUC workers stage protests at three places

Workers of the All India Trade Union Congress (AITUC) staged demonstrations in three centres in Thanjavur district on Tuesday to highlight their charter of demands, including revitalising the Labour Welfare Department, dropping anti-labour policies, and taking genuine labour welfare measures.

The demonstrations were held on Abraham Pandither Road in Thanjavur, Labour Welfare Board Office, Motilal Street, Kumbakonam, and Head Post Office, Pattukkottai.

In Thanjavur, the All India Bank Employees’ Association State general secretary E. Arunachalam inaugurated the demonstration that was led by district vice-president N. Santhanam while in Kumbakonam the AITUC district secretary R. Thillavanam was in the forefront. At Pattukkottai, the AITUC district president V. Sevaiah led the demonstration.
