Air Marshal Garud visits Thanjavur

The Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Air Command, Air Marshal Arun Purushottam Garud reviewed the operational preparedness of the Thanjavur Air Force Station here on Wednesday.

The Air Marshal, on a two-day visit to the Station, inaugurated Station Headquarters, Base Logistics Section, and flew a Sukhoi-30 fighter aircraft. Air Marshal Garud has logged over 6,100 hours of air time on various helicopters and training aircraft in his career spanning 38 years.

Station Commander Group Captain R.V. Shinde explained the various ongoing activities at the Thanjavur Air Force Station that is being fast developed into a modern and premier fighter base in Southern India.

Air Marshal Garud inspected flight safety initiatives at the station.
