The Indian Air Force as part of the Independence Day celebrations hosted an Air Fest at the Air Force Station here on Saturday.

Named “Know Your Forces,” the Air Fest aimed at fostering a sense of pride and patriotism among the youth and sensitise them to the functioning and role of the IAF.

There was a static display of some of the frontline aircraft and weapon systems of the IAF and publicity stalls were set up at the venue.

Student visitors

Students from various schools and colleges in the region were allowed to have a peep into the career prospects and opportunities in the IAF.

More than 35,000 civilians, serving and retired defence personnel participated in the Air Fest that was inaugurated by the State Commander Group Captain V.J. Singh who observed that such events would inspire the youth to become a part of the IAF and serve the nation with pride.
