AIADMK-Left parties’ talks on

The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) is continuing talks with the Communist Part of India (CPI) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) on seat sharing in the Lok Sabha election.

According to party sources, talks were still on and a decision was likely in a day or two. Members of the election committee of the AIADMK and the CPI (M) were engaged in a discussion at an undisclosed place till late on Wednesday, but the outcome remained inconclusive. Meanwhile, about 200 cadre belonging to the Congress, the Samajwadi Party and the Nationalist Congress Party from Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat joined the ruling AIADMK in the presence of Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the party headquarters on Thursday.

Among others who joined the party were actor ‘Venniradai’ Nirmala, former MLAs R.T. Gopalan, V.K. Chinnasamy, K.S. Palanisamy and P. Marappan, and former MP V. Ramanathan.
