AIADMK will take the right decision on alliance for LS polls, says Pandian

The Communist Party of India (CPI) hopes that All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will take the right decision on alliance for the coming Lok Sabha elections.

CPI State secretary D. Pandian told reporters here on Saturday that though AIADMK had said it would go it alone in the elections, party workers had said that its general secretary Jayalalithaa would have the final say on alliance.

Mr. Pandian said his party had a good understanding with the AIADMK and none could come between the two.

His party would strive to create a secular alliance in the State as prospects of such an alliance winning the 2014 general election were bright.

Mr. Pandian wanted the government to initiate steps to bring back the fishermen arrested in Sri Lanka. He also demanded a hike in the minimum support price for paddy.
