The AIADMK’s executive committee will meet at the party headquarters here on July 2.
Party presidium chairman E. Madhusudanan will chair the meeting, general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa said in a release here on Saturday.
The executive, which was to have met on June 21, was put off last Monday to an unspecified date.
Party sources say the resolutions would discuss, among others, the recent political developments, including the plight of Tamil fishermen, formation of the supervisory committee on the Mullaperiyar dam, the Chief Minister’s repeated demand for constituting the Cauvery Management Board and options to meet the State’s increasing power demand.
The executive committee would back Ms. Jayalalithaa’s efforts to get Prime Minister Narendra Modi to act on the issues and seek benefits for the State from a friendly Central government, a senior leader indicated.
Since this would be the first meeting after the massive mandate the party secured in the Lok Sabha elections, the resolutions would also point to the direction the party would take in its preparations for the Assembly elections due in another two years, according to the sources.
