C. Muthusamy, 65, an AIADMK councillor representing Ward 22 in the Tirupur Corporation, was brutally murdered at his house in Tirupur on Wednesday.

He was found dead with stab wounds in the neck and injuries in the head apparently caused by blows with a stone.

Mr. Muthusamy’s body was found in the portico of his house at V.O.C. Colony and was first noticed by his servant in the morning. He was alone in the house in the previous night.

He is survived by his wife and two daughters.

Sources close to the deceased said Mr. Muthusamy was also involved in financing business apart from his political interests.

He was elected councillor for four successive terms.
