Over a hundred All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam cadre from the Kundah area on Friday staged protest at Kodanad, where party general secretary and Chief Minister Jayalalithaa was staying.

The protest was against the appointment of a member of the party, N. Mohan, as secretary of the Kundah union. The cadres were upset that a junior member of the party was elevated to that post and alleged that MLA M. Buddhichandran was behind this.

Police stopped the cadre and, a few representatives later entered the camp office and submitted a memorandum. When contacted, Mr. Buddhichandran told The Hindu that there was nothing wrong in the elevation of Mr. Mohan as he had been joint secretary of the union and belonged to a family known for its long-time support to the AIADMK.
