Aged widow petitions Collector to trace her son

April 21, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:35 am IST - Ramanathapuram:

An aged widow has appealed to Collector K. Nanthakumar to help her trace her son, a marine engineer, who went missing six months ago.

M. Ariammal from Kathakulam village in Mudukulathur taluk said her son M. Kottaisamy joined a shipping company in Tuticorin port last year.

Her two married daughters funded the education of her son by mortgaging their jewellery and borrowing money for interest. Her son was in touch with her and his sisters after he joined the shipping company but went missing since November, Ariammal said. She had not lodged a police complaint, fearing her son would not like his photograph to be published with such an announcement.
