Admissions to postgraduate courses in full swing

The admission process for the postgraduate course offered by the Government Arts College (Co-education) in the city, which commenced on June 25 has evoked good response.

More than 2,400 applications have been sold out till Thursday evening and the deadline for the collection of the application is July 8.

The college offered 16 postgraduate courses for 450 seats.

The last date for the submission of applications is July 15, according to R. Dhanalakshmi, Principal of the college.

After scrutiny of the applications received, the college will publish a rank list, and will send admission cards to eligible students based on this rank list.

Since the postgraduate courses offered limited number of seats, direct admission will be done in all the disciplines on July 27. In case of vacancies arising, the wait listed candidates will be called for admission on the next day, Prof. Dhanalakshmi said.

The Government Arts College for Women on the Yercaud road in the city, has almost completed the admission procedure for the seven postgraduate courses it offered for 200 seats.

Sale of applications closed on June 29. The rank list has been published, and the call letters sent to eligible students, said Manimozhi, Principal of the college.

The direct admission process commenced on July 1, and 184 candidates were selected.

Thirty students have been directed to rectify the defects in the documents, and return on July 8.
