Action sought

March 25, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:41 am IST - TUTICORIN:

Condemning the attitude of a village health nurse of Alangudi Primary Health Centre in Tiruvarur district which led to the transfer of Block Medical Officer, recently , members of Tamil Nadu Government Doctors’ Association staged agitation on the campus of Deputy Director of Health Services here on Tuesday evening. P. Kumaran, president of the association, said the medical officer was allegedly manhandled by the nurse, who was irregular at work. During review meeting last week, the nurse did not respond properly when medical reports were sought for reference. Instead of taking action against the nurse, the Director of Public Health transferred the medical officer and two office assistants. Hence, the members raised slogans against the Director and sought to reinstate the transferred persons and dismiss the nurse from service.
