Yet another police story will soon hit the screens but this one may differ from its predecessors. Actor Sakthi will make a comeback with a new screen name Sakthivel Vasu in Tharkappu . He will share screen space with director-actor Samuthirakani.
The plot revolves around six characters and Samuthirakani dons the role of a police officer. “This movie will differ from the usual police story elements like conflict with the villain. The film is about the consequences of a murder and we have weaved in several true incidents into the storyline,” said the film’s director R.P. Ravi.
Set in Krishnagiri, the film talks about the conflict within police officials, their responsibilities and film travels to areas bordering Krishnagiri. “We have stressed how there is a need to defend the society through the film. Actor Sakthivel Vasu will play a gangster,” he added. Both actors Samuthirakani and Sakthivel Vasu do not have heroines in the movie.
While F.S. Faisal has composed music for the movie, Jones Anand will wield the camera. The movie is expected to hit the screens by September end.
Actor Yuhi Sethu has just wrapped up work on three films. He has played the lead along with Sathyaraj in Night Show directed by editor Antony.
“It is a family thriller revolving around the lives and fate of two men. While playing this role, I was able to draw parallels with my own life. The film is a remake of the Malayalam film Shutter . The original was a State award-winning movie and also a box office hit,” says the actor, who has also written the script for the film that is to be released shortly.
Yuhi Sethu’s daughter Anasana, who is studying in class III, has also acted in the film. “This is the first time that I acted in a movie and the experience was awesome. I have acted as Sathyaraj Sir’s daughter,” she says. Ask her what her character’s name is in the film and pat comes the reply: “I do not have a name.”
Yuhi Sethu has also acted in Thrisha Illana Nayanthara opposite Simran and then Kamal Haasan’s Thoongavanam , says the actor, who is quite choosy about the characters he plays. He is known for his popular TV show Nayyandi Durbar and also his role in Panchathanthiram along with Kamal Haasan.
