A pall of gloom descended on the house of L.S. Sudarshan Bhattachariyar, who was killed in the plane crash in Nepal on Monday morning.
The family members of Sudarshan Bhattachariyar were in deep grief waiting for the body to arrive from Kathmandu.
Soundaraj Bhattachariyar, brother of Sudarshan Bhattachariyar, told The Hindu that the body was being kept at a government hospital in Kathmandu. It would be released only after post-mortem of all the four bodies of tourists hailing from Tamil Nadu were completed. “We expect the body by Wednesday and cremation will be done on the same day,” Soundaraj said.
Sudarshan went along with the Thirukoshtiyur Madhavan group on a pilgrimage to Ayodhya, Naimisaranyam, Nepal and Muktinath.
Sudarshan Bhattachariyar is the hereditary archaka of Sarangapani, Chakkarapani and Ramaswamy temples at Kumbakonam.
MLA condoles death
Anbalagan, Kumbakonam MLA, condoled the death of Sudarshan Bhattachariyar.
In his condolence message he stated that he was shocked to hear about the death of the Bhattachariyar. He conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased.
