About 100 lawyers were engaged by the parties at various stages of the hearing before the EC on the “two leaves” symbol case.
Senior advocates C.S. Vaidyanathan, S. Guru Krishna Kumar, K.V. Vishwanathan, P. H. Manoj Pandian and K. Venkatramani led the group of 44 lawyers which argued for the Panneerselvam-Palaniswami combine. For the respondents, senior advocates Abhishek Manu Singhvi and Hansaria Vijay appeared before the Commission.
Senior advocate Mukul Rhotagi represented Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E.K. Palaniswami for seeking impleadment, along with two other advocates. For intervener J. Deepa, there were three lawyers; Pughazhendi and P. A. Joseph had one lawyer each.
In all, 22 lawyers – including senior advocates Mohit Mathur, Ashwani Kumar, D.C. Mathur, Kirti Uppal and Amit Sibal – represented other interveners.
