TIRUNELVELI: Two teens were killed in a road accident at Vasudevanallur in the district on Monday evening.
Police said D. Ramesh (19) of Puliyangudi and his friend P. Muthukumar (19) from the same area, who had completed vocational courses in ITI and polytechnic college respectively, were returning home on a bike from Royagiri.
When they reached Vasudevanallur, they overtook a straw-laden lorry without noticing the oncoming Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation bus, proceeding from Shencottai to Madurai, and collided head-on with it.
Both Ramesh and Muthukumar sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. Vasudevanallur police are investigating.
