8877 candidates appear for TET

As many as 8877 candidates appeared for the Teachers’ Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by the Teachers’ Recruitment Board (TRB) for the recruitment of post-graduate teachers in Nagercoil on Saturday.

A. S. Radhakrishnan, Chief Educational Officer, told The Hindu that the exam was held in 22 centres in Nagercoil and it was incident-free. Of the 9460 candidates who had applied for TET, there were 583 absentees. Sixty three visually challenged candidates appeared for the examination with the help of scribes. Joint Director of Elementary Education Selvaraj monitored the conduct of exam. Collector Sajjansingh R. Chavan inspected the exam.
