Sivagiri police have arrested a teenage boy and are searching for two others for allegedly sexually assaulting an eight-year-old Dalit girl.
The police said the three boys from a village under Sivagiri police station limits allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, also from the same village, after stuffing her mouth with a cloth and taking her to a public toilet recently.
When the girl informed her parents of the incident, her mother filed a complaint with Sivagiri police. The police arrested one of the accused, studying class IX.
The hunt is on to nab the other two boys, both studying class XI.
