43 injured as bus collides with lorry near Harur

Forty-three persons including fifteen women were injured when a private bus rammed into a stationary lorry near Harur early Tuesday.

Police sources said that the accident occurred when a group of people from Paramathivellore in Nammal district were on their way to Tirumala in a private bus. The driver lost control and rammed into a stationary lorry in Nambipatti village near Harur.

Forty-three persons in the bus, who were sleeping at the time of the accident, have been injured.

On the basis of a complaint filed by a passenger, Harur police have registered a case against the driver, Murugesan. All the injured were initially brought to the Harur government hospital and later shifted to the medical college hospital in Salem.
