Intending to increase the efficiency of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on Sunday said she has ordered filling of posts of 4,000 Field Assistants
They would be recruited through the Employment Office and paid a consolidated salary of Rs 3,250 during their two-year training period. On completion of training, they would be made permanent, she said in a statement.
On the status of other power plants in the state, she said Kudankulam Nuclear Power Plant would soon start power generation following her government’s “efficient handling” of problems that came in the way of work at the plant.
Work at three thermal plants at Vallur (1,000 MW), North Chennai (1,200 MW) and Mettur (600 MW) were on the verge of completion, she added.
“With all these measures, Tamil Nadu is not far from the day of becoming a power surplus state,” she said.

Th post by Mr Mani is only to highlight the corruption in TNEB and other government agencies. It is also not correct to challenge people to stop paying bribes. If we and our families have to get on with their daily routines we are forced to bribe one way or the other. It is also not the duty of the common man to stop people from paying bribes or stop officials from taking bribes. It is the duty of the government and the police to do this for which we pay taxes.
Mr. Mani how is this relevant to this subject. Corruption is at every level and every department. If we stop bribing corruption will automatically comedown. Do we have the guts to face corrupt people by not paying bribes? All of us are selfish and wnats to get our things done somehow and we induldge in paying bribes. Don't pay bribe and prevent others from bribing. This will bring down corruption automatically.
Why do we need a CM to just announce this news? There is nothing that
the TNEB head could not publicize this dummy news. There are several
news like this without announcing any infrastructure development
projects.
Great news!
What about corrupt people at various levels of the EB department? How is
the CM going to fix this issue and bring to books such corrupt
employees?
