Four new parks will soon be coming up in Tiruvannamalai. They are being set up under the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT), a Government of India scheme, at a cost of Rs.2 crore.
Thamarai Nagar, a middle class neighbourhood, is where these parks would be developed. All the four parks would be set up in Thamarai Nagar, a middle class neighbourhood.
They will be located in the second, seventh and eighth street of Thamarai Nagar. The fourth one will come up in a street located behind TANSI.
Schemes under the AMRUT are given to district head quarter towns that have more than one lakh population, an official said.
Facilities
In addition to greenery, the parks will have play area for children, fountains, platforms for walking and decorative lights.
A compound wall and rest rooms are also part of the plan. However the final design will be finalised after consultation with an architect, an official said.
