Four more farmers end life

The spate of suicides of farmers continued in the State with four debt-ridden farmers ending their lives in different districts in the last 24 hours.

In Chikkamagaluru district, a 60-year-old farmer K.P. Puttannaiah, committed suicide at Karagane village near Balehonnur in Koppa taluk by hanging himself from a ceiling of a room in his house on Thursday.

Tobacco farmer Raje Gowda (52) of Kirangur in Hunsur taluk, committed suicide on Wednesday night by hanging. B. Pradeep (38) of Doddatharahalli in K.R. Pet taluk, who allegedly attempted suicide by consuming poison at a farmland in Nagarabindenahalli on Wednesday night, died in a hospital in Hassan district on Thursday.

Farmer Nagendrappa Talwar (56) from Yaddalli in Sedam taluk in Kalaburagi district, who had consumed pesticide on Tuesday, died at a private hospital in Sedam.
