Three persons, including a woman, who were part of a catering party, were killed when a Vellore-bound lorry dashed against a stationary lorry in which they were sitting, in Kethandapatti near Vaniyambadi on the Bangalore-Chennai National Highway on Sunday.
Nineteen others sustained injuries.
They were admitted to hospital.
According to police sources, the contract party comprising 12 masters and 25 suppliers was returning to Vellore after a wedding reception in Hosur on Saturday. The Natrampalli police are investigating.
