3 Chennai youth killed in accident

Three youth from Chennai were killed and three others were seriously injured when their SUV jumped the road and rammed a roadside house at Koppedu village of Nindra mandal in the district, close to the Tamil Nadu border, on Sunday evening.

According to information, six youth from Chennai reached the Kailasakona Water Falls (known as Konai Falls), 15 km from Puttur town, in the afternoon, and revelled at the spot till evening.

On their return journey to Chennai, one of the youths at the wheel lost control of the vehicle and rammed the house, leading to three casualties.

The injured youth were rushed to the SVRR Hospital at Tirupati, and the deceased were shifted to area hospital for autopsy.

It is suspected that the youth were under the influence of liquor when the mishap took place.

The Nindra Sub-Inspector said that a case would be registered after ascertaining the identifies of the deceased and injured and preliminary investigation.
