Two more persons, a woman from Nizamabad and another male patient from Madhapur area have died of complications out of swine flu at Gandhi Hospital on Thursday. This has taken the overall death toll to 34 in Telangana in January. Forty-six more cases have tested positive for swine flu.
In another development, 12 junior doctors at Osmania General Hospital (OGH) have tested positive for swine flu. The medicos have been advised to remain in their hostel rooms and continue taking medicines. According to doctors, the medicos are in stable condition and are responding to the treatment.
The total number of swine flu positive cases so far in Telangana has gone up to 583. Meanwhile, Health Minister C. Laxma Reddy visited OGH on Thursday night and interacted with doctors and took stock of the swine flu preparedness.
The Minister also enquired about the developmental activities that are needed to be taken up at OGH.
