19 civil service officers transferred

A reshuffle has been effected in the Puducherry administration, with 19 civil service officers being transferred to various posts. The orders were issued by Lt Governor Iqbal Singh yesterday.

A press release from the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms said the Chief Executive Officer of Puducherry Khadi and Village Industries Board Pankaj Kumar Jha has been trasnferred and posted as Chief Superintendent of Jails and would also hold additional charge as Inspector General of Prisons.

Director of Women and Child Development and Managing Director of the Corporation for Development of Women and Handicapped People R Smitha has been transferred and posted as Joint Secretary (Education), relieving S Banumathi.

M Dinesh, Under Secretary (Establishment) in the Chief Secretariat has been shifted as Chief Executive Officer of Khadi and Village and Industries Board, in place of Jha.

Commissioner of Mahe Municipality R Varadarajan has been transferred as Director of Women and Child Development and Managing Director of the Corporation for Women and Handicapped people in place of R Smitha.

Regional Administrator of Mahe E Vallavan will hold additional charge of Commissioner of Mahe Municipality.
