As many as 13 passengers of a van sustained injuries when the vehicle collided with a state-owned public transport bus along Dharapuram-Kangayam stretch on Wednesday. The Uthiyur police are investigating.
Two boys drown
Two minor boys were drowned in a pond at Kongupalayam near here on Wednesday. The deceased were identified Ashwin Kumar (12) and Gopi Krishnan (9). Police sources said the incident occurred while the boys tried to take bath in the pond. They got caught in the current and drowned. The Perumanallur police have registered a case and are investigating.
