118 colleges participate in learnathon

ICT Academy conducted a 24-hour learnathon bringing together 10,966 students from 118 colleges across the country on Friday and Saturday.

The students who participated in the self-learning initiative were expected to complete around 5.35 lakh learning modules to earn digital badges as credentials.

M. Sivakumar, CEO of the Academy, said the initiative helped students discover career options and get hands-on experience to prepare for next generation jobs.

The learnathon was held to enable students prepare themselves for the fourth generation industrial revolution. “The aim of the learnathon platform is to encourage self-learning in a spirited competitive and collaborative environment that students love,” said Lakshminarayanan, vice-chairman emeritus, Cognizant. With an array of digital assets for learning technology skills on the internet, it was a great time to be a student, he noted.
