A total of 109 patients with respiratory symptoms attended the asthma awareness camp held at Christian Medical College (CMC) recently.
The camp, organised by the Department of Pulmonary Medicine of CMC, was conducted in view of the World Asthma Day. Spirometry was done for 91 patients. Around 70 patients were newly diagnosed to have asthma, and 12 were diagnosed with allergic rhinitis, according to a press release.
The patients were educated about their condition and were counselled about the care required. It is a disease that should be kept under control, the release added. — Staff Reporter
