10 injured in accident near Kaveripattinam

Ten people were injured in a jeep-lorry collision in Paiyur on the National Highway near Kaveripattinam on Monday night.

The accident took place when a family based at Banasankari in Bangalore was returning from Dharmapuri in a jeep after attending a function. The jeep collided with the lorry at Paiyur village near Kaveripattinam.

All those travelling in the jeep were injured and shifted to the Kaveripattinam government hospital for treatment.

Kaveripattinam police have registered a case against lorry driver Balasbramaniam hailing from Mousi area in Thiruchengode. Further investigation is on, police sources said.
